ROY MATTHEWS WESSON
Written by Dot Matthews
Roy Matthews Wesson was born on March 16, 1970 at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton, OH. His name is derived from his maternal grandfather, Roy F. Matthews of Loretto, TN.
Roy has three children; Jordan , Jacob Allen, and Kali Ashlynn. Roy married Amanda Allen, but were later divorced. The children attend Madison School in Hamilton, OH.
Roy attended McGuffey Lab School at Miami University and Talawanda High school. His eighth grade was Stewart School in Oxford. He enjoyed athletic teams; baseball, football, wrestling, basketball and lacrosse; sponsored by the schools and the city. Art was and is his prime interest and was his major field in college. He was also interested in music and took both guitar and saxophone lessons. Both acoustic and electric guitar remain his interests.
While in high school, Roy was active in theater productions and spent four years in the Drama Club. He spent time in support groups and acted in a number of plays. He was also instrumental in forming a group and in presenting skits about curbing drug and alcoholic abuse. These skits were presented before local elementary school groups. His signature identification was a the color orange. We searched for orange T-shirts, shorts, and baseball caps; and wonder of wonders, we found them. If not, he would paint them orange.
At present, Roy works at Mitsubishi in Mason, OH. He lives in a house in Somerville, OH that was initially a barn. Of course he calls it "the barn"
